Unusual math

I recently discovered the Top Commenters section of Houzz. Yesterday I was number 5 or something today I'm number 26 and Houzz is informing me that I'm "down 28 places since yesterday." 26th place (today)-5th place (yesterday)=21 places. And 26th place today-28 places=-2nd place yesterday which makes no sense. Viewed a different way, 5th place yesterday+28 places=33rd place today.

What in the world is up with your maths?! And yes, I know the ranking is valueless to the greater good of myself and society. I JUST NEED TO KNOW!!!! :-D

Hi Lindsey! I totally get it. :) Those numbers should be about a day behind, but occasionally they can get a bit out of whack and when they are fixed, you might see some strange numbers. Are you continuing to see really dramatic changes?
