i got another job!

a friend is going to florida to visit her dad. she called me a couple of days ago and begged me to babysit her little girl. how could i say no??

her name is georgia. she is so friendly and loooooves belly rubs! i have her for 10 days. gonna see if i can teach her to sit, spin, and walk through the hula hoop. she is the most food-motivated animal i have ever seen!

haha, i hear that a lot! be careful what you wish for. these little pigs don't stay little for long. they have a life expectancy of up to 20 years or more so a pig is a very long commitment. i gotta admit though, they are adorable! i remember when arnold ziffel was the size of georgia. he is easily 200# now.

Adorable! That first pic--she looks so cute. How's your other pig doing with the babe? Are they together?

no, socks, i have georgia in a separate barn in the same pen. there is a gate to keep her inside. she is much too small and would be able to crawl under several places in the fence so she will have to stay confined for her visit. arnold and harley, so far, have completely ignored her which surprises me! i thought they would at least show a little interest but neither of them has even ventured over to check her out.

Georgia you are adorable, Nina will they have to pry her from your hands when they come home, or maybe you will hold her for a piggies ransom. Your grandson is going to have so much fun in a few years coming to your house..

LOL christine, you know me too well! however, no they won't have to pry her from my hands. as cute and fun as she is, i made a promise to myself that i would not add more animals, especially outside animals. well, until gabriel wants a pony and even then, i'll have to think long and hard! haha

LOL!! that reminds me of a story...i worked for an attorney and had stopped at the local courthouse on my way to work to get an order signed. the judge was a long time friend. i knocked on his door and was told to come in. i opened the door to see 3 attorneys standing there. i apologized to the judge for being a little late, i had to thaw the pipes in order to get water to the pigs. they all laughed hysterically at that and they all said that was an excuse they had NEVER heard from their secretaries! the judge happened to be a "hobby" farmer and kept a bunch of pigs himself so he understood. LOL

hmm...pig nanny on my resume... :D

it's been getting so cold at night so i gave georgia a bowl of warm oatmeal so she would stand still long enough for me to put this little coat on her. :)

hopefully, she will still have it on tomorrow morning! LOL

georgia went home today. whew! it was fun while she was here but i'm over it. makes me even more sure (as if i wasn't already) that i won't be adding any more outside critters!

Pink is definitely her color! It was fun to have her, but a little less work now.
