Check if they have a microwave cabinet. I seem to remember they do. You want one with ventilation as heat builds up around microwaves. In some areas (mine) you cannot have an appliance completely enclosed in a cupboard. There can be no door and there is a certain amount of headroom required.

Also, the back is 1/2" thick.

Before Sektion, there was a microwave cabinet, but none now.

I don't need to worry too much about codes-I'm in rural MS and there's nobody to check up on us. And we like it that way! But we still try not to do stupid (-:

In that case, check out the above-fridge cab. It has vent notches top and bottom back to let warm air escape. Deeper though.

I measured my uppers for you: 14" interior depth :)
