Take out shower?

This is the laundry room on main level, entrance from garage. No bedrooms on main level and there is a half bath elsewhere on this level.

Thoughts, remove this shower and put something more useful or keep it. If remove, replace with what?

I cannot actually see anyone stripping down in our laundry room to shower and we have no pets as of now.

If anyone ever has to stay on the main floor (despite the lack of bedrooms there) because they cannot go up and down the stairs, they will find this shower useful. Broken legs, sprained ankles, etc. happen to many people.

Makes no sense there unless you live in a place or work in a place where getting your clothes off and cleaning up before entering house is a requirement

If you don't need the shower, rip it out and make this into a cedar lined closet for off season storage. Or a walk in pantry, or my dream-a gift wrapping station!

Good point Apple... that happened to me and I could not go upstairs for over a week. Would have been very useful. On the other hand, I managed. Tough one.

I'd keep the shower...accidents happen. And so do young kids playing in the mud...any mom would love that feature.

I'd remove it and add a closet or try to reconfigure to add a drop zone area (more useful and if kids are that dirty they need to be hosed off outside

Leave it is my advise. My husband was sick, unable to go upstairs to the bedroom and bathroom. Was going to put a shower in the garage but he didn't live long enough for that to happen. Moral of the story for me was : buy a house with a shower downstairs ( and preferably a bedroom as well) next time.

Jeanne, even my dog doesn't like to be hosed off outside.

If you aren't doing without in terms of storage or amenities that you need then keep it. It won't hurt resale but should increase it.
