Front door sourcing help!

We need to replace the front door as part of the cabin remodel. I've searched high and low and figure the experts here can help with what I want and maybe why I'm not finding it. I was originally going to build but due to many things we decided to buy and renovate. With input from folks here I decided a good design style to add to the log cabin is craftsman. I can't go full out but like being able to add details as we go. The front door needs to be changed so I'm going with an outswing in craftsman style. I want the door to be painted as there is wood everywhere and this is one of the few places I can add color. I want the little shelf with dentil molding under a window. But every door with dentil molding shelf is only available in really nice wood which I don't want to paint. But all the unfinished options just have a window, no shelf. This is what I want(not this color, I'm going with a mossy green).

I even looked for the place on that pin but am not finding it.

Is my problem that I'm looking to paint a style that isn't typically painted?

What do you think of the idea of attaching a strip of moulding under the window of a simpler door, and then painting it?

Just throwing that out there, in case no one else can point you in the right direction, forcing desperation, lol.

Therma Tru has what your looking for. They have paintable fiberglass doors. I have the full catalog and it has a Craftsman door, with 3 vertical lites on the top with an optional dentil molding.

It would be the Classic Craft collection with optional 4-block dentil shelf. Model #CCV930

One devoted dame, I did think of that. If it comes to it I will do that but only if I can find a wooden door. I'm not sure that is an option with a fiberglass door.

Imstillchloecat, the first door is stunning and I'd hate to paint it. I may end up with wood and will be fine with that but there is so much wood I'm not sure more won't just be insane to look at.

I bought pretty much that exact door except I needed 3'6" door which either wasn't available or people wanted an arm and a leg for. Ended up finding it here http://ksrdoor.com/ for a very reasonable price including freight.

Trustile will make a door to fit. You can also look into Jeldwen. I don't know the quality of their exterior doors though.

Stupid question. I'm forgetting your house, but are you sure the style of the door will work with your log cabin home?

Cp, it's a log cabin with some craftsman influences already. After perusing many design sources I decided that the main design influences that seem to work with cabins is either early American or craftsman light as my designer friend termed it. I'm not really sure that there is a true style that goes in a log cabin, if there is I haven't found it. Of course you also see a bunch of decor with bears or moose which makes me crazy for some reason.

On a side note, this house has no doorbell and wiring through logs costs a fortune so I'm going with a mechanical doorbell. For some reason they are all craftsman or Victorian.

If you want a wood door, Simpson is a good source (www.simpsondoor.com) They offer the door you want in a variety of wood species. The more expensive options (e.g., mahogany) will be more rot resistant. If there is a covered porch providing some protection, you may get acceptable performance from a less rot-resistant species.

If you want a more budget-friendly door, check out the fiberglass versions by Therma Tru (www.thermatru.com)

Annette...cool doorbell. They do make some wireless doorbells if you still want to go that route.

I'm voting for Therma Tru as well. Their Smooth Star line can be painted or stained and they offer the dentil shelf.
