Boy, I've been there. I took a bra and a nightgown and cut the shoulder seam open and put in snaps. So, with help, I could pull things on and snap them at the shoulder. I started a bit of applique in my lap carefully and sewed but could do little else. You'll make it through with time. I was doing FMQ in six months but not easily.

I have some hand-piecing projects my Mom started that I'd like to finish, so now would be a good time to work on them!

Yes it does feel good to do something you enjoy after a surgery, but Theresa is right....slow and steady....

What kind of shoulder surgery did you have? I'm curious because the shoulder Dr. told me this week the only surgical option I had was a reverse shoulder replacement. I was wondering if that was what you had.

Bkay, I had rotator cuff surgery. The doctor said it was the worst tear he'd seen in a long time. He suspects it had been partially torn for several years.

He also said if I tear it again I'll need shoulder replacement.

What is reverse replacement?

So happy you were able to do something again. Small steps and slow and steady and you'll be back to your old self in no time! See, you were able to dress yourself too.

Awhile back, when I was having a bad session with my arthritic wrist, I was having such a hard time getting dressed. I mentioned it in an email to my sister that now I understand why so many older women wear MuMu's all the time and that I was seriously thinking about getting some. She had a fit, said she would disown me. LOL! I say whatever gets you through the day. Now I'm having more and more joints in my hands and wrists being attacked with arthritis. But dealing with the shoulder is another thing completely, I'm sending wishes for you to continue to heal quickly.

Donna, if I understand correctly, they replace the shoulder with a prosthesis and connect it all up differently. This is done for people who have a lot of pain and limited use of the arm. Fortunately, I don't have either of those, but have a pretty bad tear.

So, I'm retiring and trying to preserve what I have.
