I was out shopping at a local store yesterday and noticed that Stihl has come out with 32 inch bypass loppers. Its a very light weight tool compared to the Corona's I normally use, but not so light on the price at $86.00. Looking on the Stihl website, they also have several different models of hand pruners. You might want to check them out as Stihl products are sold all over now - not just chainsaw dealers.

hi boss, you know the old saying " you get what you pay for", for years i used yard sale, thrift store finds. awhile back i was sprucing up a shrub by the front door and wasn't happy with the cut i was getting with the shears i was using. with no other choice i went down to the local lowes hardware and pu'd a pair of corona shears, around 25.00? don't remember. they're about 4yrs old and still cut well. there are others online that look like quality products, the stihl brand turn mentioned above are probably a good choice, stihl wouldn't put there name on them if they didn't perform. all above thoughts apply to loppers as well. good luck.

I've gotten several years out of my Corona loppers. Corona makes a little sharpening tool that works great on their secateurs as well as on the loppers.

Be it loppers, etc. Buy good tools and divide the "ouch factor" by the years you'll use them. Also, good tools can be sharpened and adjusted, throwaways can't.
