What is the bottom edge/pull shaped like?

I have a narrow slot for blinds to fit into, so the light can't seep around the edges. My friend has some shades that are flexible on the bottom so they can be turned so the narrow side fits and they would work perfectly. I like this fabric better however.
I have tried some with a pull that is a solid square inch and can't be turned.
I hope this description makes sense!

I'm not sure if you are referring to the side or the bottom. The side are a hemmed fabric all the way down. There is a fiberglass stiffener in the bottom rail of the shade.

Actually I'm referring to the sides of the bottom rail. The issue is specifically the sides (ends) of the bottom rail. Will they fit through my 1/2 inch space? (The slot is actually 1"+ but there is a lift on the window that makes the bottom of the shade need to squeeze through about a half inch of space.
