help for my bedroom wall colours

hi all, last year my parents and i, enrolled on a new project to change my bedroom. i am an 18yr old teenager. we thought a red [maroon] accent wall would go well with the wenge furniture. the other walls are painted light grey. even though the pictures show the room is well lit due to the dark curtains and small window, most of the time it is rather dark. i wanted to ask for your suggestions with regards to wall colours. as you can see i also have a television with surround which i wish to retain. thx
