Your space is already quite open and where would you put the sink? I'd put my $$$ into making a pretty space since you have great floors and lots of room. Updated lighting, beautiful window treatments and furnishings is where I'd pend my bucks. To make it appear more "open" try a unifying color throughout the living, dining and kitchen. Doesn't have to be "boring" if you work with several colors from the same color chip - lighter ones in darker spaces and darker shades where you get lots of natural light. I would leave it alone. It works perfectly with the opening to the adjoining room.

Thank you, I am keeping sink and lower cabinets just looking to open up pass thru more instead of looking like a picture window this picture is what I am looking for but with it load bearing I am not sure if I can do this.

there are some great example on Houzz if you go to the pbotos and enter "kitchen pass through" (or thru)--built-ins, trim, etc. I would make the yellow paint more in the same " family" as the front room paint.

Thank you, I am changing all the cabinets, countertops, sink and appliances and painting the walls in both rooms to something light. I am keeping the footprint of the kitchen. The rooms have limited natural light so I am trying to lighten it up against the dark flooring.
