I bought a Quartz countertop that I hate!

I bought a Luzzo quartz countertop off a small sample at the store (bad move) that has little gray veins in it. They look like spider veins or worms or like their's pubic hair laying on it. I'm serious. It's terrible! It's horrible! It makes me feel ill when I look at it. Does anyone know if the veins can be buffed out or something? Help. I'm stressing terribly over this mistake. Too much money spent for the sickening result. Ugh.

Well. It seems this "Silestone" was produced for Loews exclusively ( could even be a bad run from China in this case.? but it does have a spidery look online in all the photos.)......is Loews where you got it? I would go to Loews if that's the case, express your displeasure and perhaps get SOME credit towards a new selection. Worth a shot.

I don't know if you will get very far, but it's a lesson. ALWAYS ask to see your slab in person before template and cut, no matter it is quartz. A real stone shop versus a big box is wise.....: ) I will add I see nothing wrong with the spidery effect, not certain what is making you ill, unless you have something far different.

Correction: Lusso is the name of the product, not Luzzo.

Has it been installed? Can you exchange it? I'm sure you don't need to be told you must look at the entire slab. How much $ are you out?

You can't buff out the veining from a stone product, the most you can do is have a slab cut around a formation you don't like. Hopefully you can exchange it for something else since you don't like it.

It's installed, unfortunately. It's not at all like the pictures of it online. Lots of money spent for nothing good. I can't get anyone to call me back from the place I bought it. Ugly mess. Thank you for the comments. It helps a little bit to vent my frustrations.

Do you have pictures of your kitchen? I just can't believe it's that bad--maybe just not what you expected.

Does it match the tiny sample?

If you still have the sample put it on the counter and take a picture of it.

I'll take a picture of mine and post it here. I should have done that to begin with. Yes, mine is completely different from the sample shown online. Mine is mostly white with sparse veining, which makes it look like spider veins that I want to cover up. If I could only dress my counters or maybe call in a doctor for sclerotherapy treatment, maybe I'd be better off. Thank you, Jan; your advice is good, and I will remember it for the future. This may be the most expensive mistake I've made in my lifetime. Again. Ugh.

leelee, I'll get that picture for you to see. It doesn't look like the pictures I see online and it's different from the sample at the store.

If it's the WORST mistake? A great life!! I'd call it a first world disaster at "best" : ) Better to suck it up and replace it, than punish yourself daily.

I just paid 6k for countertops I don't like. I picked them almost a year ago. The installers screwed up the main one I wanted as the main piece after waiting a year to get it done! So what I got to pick from of that lot of stone that was left was horrible. They installed it and the seam looks stupid because the pattern in the stone changed, the coloring. Horrible but it was the best choice out of the lot. Unbelievable to pick out my perfect piece, wait a year, and installers messed up the measurements for it right out the gate. I'm crying right now.

If they messed up you should not have accepted or paid for it until they did it the right way.
