hello we are finally ready to redo our very outdated bathroom. The bathroom is 1,86 x 2,20 meters.

We have bought the tiles and yesterday they broke all the old tiles and now I am stuck on some details.

We plan to have a walk in sunken shower where the bath is now with a fixed glass coming out to 1 meter.

We chose 2 different size of tiles one size 11,5 cm x 35 cm and 35cm x 70 cm I have included pictures.The wall where the window is we plan to put the tile sized 11,5 x35 in a brick pattern, the same tile will be on the floor in a herringbone pattern. Along the other walls we will have the 35x70 tile. The tiles will be floor to ceiling.

I have included a picture of the vanity and mirror we have chosen which will go where the sink is the old picture.

my dilemma is: should a lay a border of tiles round the room and then start the herringbone pattern and also should I stop the herringbone pattern when the shower has the little step with a border the then continue it again or without border. I have added a picture I found on houzz that shows the herringbone pattern in a bathroom with sunken shower without border round the walls but with a border where the shower begins.

any advise will be greatly appreciated.
