Don't worry about leader...just prune it more like a V shape, some wood needs to come out for light and cut ends back some...getting too thin too long to carry fruit.

If you're like me and don't like branches too low...cut further up as the tree grows older and stop when you think were they should be. If you have no center then let it open for light, cut the branches which grow toward the center. I should say more like open center...pruning
