Can't you vent sideways in your home?

Not sure! I'll look into it, thank you! a few minutes ago I saw something on the Faber Scirocco Plus that says it can fit behind a range. Fingers crossed! But I'll definitely look into sideways as well

Downdraft are useless. You need an overhead vent. And it sounds like you need a KD with a clue as well.

Just to check,......... you aren't trying to put the range in an island are you? Cooking at an island creates all types of complications. I know 20 people will tell me I'm wrong, but it's my opinion.

If you put the range on the back wall in a kitchen, you should be able to create a chase to run the vent sideways out the wall.

Downdrafts are not useless. People are unhelpful, though. My goodness. Some kitchens and houses have limitations. My parents have an ancient thermador downdraft vent and it works incredibly well still.

my ancient thermador worked very well, and my new one works even better as they have increased the height.

My parents last house had an old Jenn-Air and the downdraft worked great, even when we tried out the indoor grill to cook burgers one time.

What did you decide to do? I am trying to replace my JennAir with a double oven range in an island but no luck. I can't have an overhead vent. Not an option.
