I grow Guy de Maupassant. If someone wanted a pink rose bush, I wouldn't get all excited and tell them they had to have Guy. I like hm because he stays reasonable small around 3 feet. The shape is unusual in that the flowers look at if someone cut them across. It gives the blooms a fat, squat look. The spreading type of growth looks good in a pot.

Well that looks beautiful to me ! Is it the spreading growth you don't like ? Does it repeat well ?

I am really struggling to choose one more Rose ! I already am planning on marie curie . I like the idea of the fragrance of Frederic mistral but I don't care for hybrid teas in my own garden.. then I like johann Strauss but it's really not speaking to me like it was a day ago . I'm just torn !

Oldrosarian, what's not to like about those blooms? How can this frilly, frothy, fluffy rose have a male name?? Like Lilyfinch, hybrid tea form doesn't do it for me. The old fashioned, quartered, cupped and flat blooms are the ones that make my heart beat faster. GdM has been unavailable the years I've tried to get it. I rarely order since I live so close to Northland. If they don't have what I want, I just wait until they do.

I added it to Hortico bc I have an order coming already from them.

I bought 1 last year from Hortico, it's a pretty rose indeed. Everyone should grow 1! :-)

I ordered it and marie curie ! I am so excited to see them bloom in person . They were my two bonus roses that I wasn't really planning on but I am so glad to get ! :)
