Pat I remember reading about these sheets here also and on AW...I don't recall when they were brought up here anyone saying anything so it could be not everyone read the post. I'm in agreement with Roc, great to see this. I'm also glad the link Cavimum gave us talked about the myth with thread count. Same thing Roc has talked about a number of times. I aldo hope someone orders and reports....they have WHITE duvet covers...not just any WHITE duver covers but PERCALE..LOL.I love percale, nothing feels better to cuddle up in...in bed than percale IMHO

16" will not work for us, as we need a minimum of 19-20" in (more is better). We have a CRAZY thick double pillowtop mattress!

I just stumbled upon this thread and was so excited to see this product. I just ordered the King Size Duvet Set, with duvet cover, bottom fitted sheet and 2 pillowcases. I'll post back when I get them.

There is the option to "refer a friend" and get additional savings - so this may be something to consider if a bunch of posters here are interested.

Since it is a startup company, I wonder if they have a link to post requests. So many people need deeper bottom fitted sheets, as we do, if they may do something for us. Since they are sold out on queens it would be an opportune time to contact them. I will use the link to see what is there. I checked and there was a help link that I used to tell them about this forum and of the posts that said we need a deeper bottom sheet. I asked them to consider adding one to their line and to let me know if they can/will.

The depth of the sheets is not great for me either. They need a deeper pocket option.

I keep seeing TV advertising for this brand. I think they're sateen though which I'm not a fan. I like percale.

All linen except the duvet that needs replacing. It's cotton. About 20 years old. Soft and beautiful and super white, but starting to have little holes. My long hair dog prefers the cotton duvet to the linen duvet :)

Then I would definitely go with linen. Alternately, have you see the linen comforter with the beautiful stitching? Enabler link... Alex and I were drooling over it.

I'd use the old cotton duvet to throw over the part the dog likes (but I recently took an unusued 43 y.o. cross stitched linen table cloth and used it to reupholster an ottoman). LOL

I'm a confirmed percale person but I'm slowly converting to linen and metis. They just feel so good.

I introduced the Authenticity 50 about 8 months ago. I haven't tried them, yet.

There's also another brand, Red Land Cotton, made in Alabama.

Pricey.

We're sleeping with Rough Linen and French Linen from Design Sleep. We only use percale/cotton between washes.

I try to be, Pat, when it's in the service of something that enhances life. With all the stress today I believe little luxuries, when possible/affordable, are very comforting.

We spend half our lives in bed, after all.

OTOH, there are things I would never do/buy that others spend on.

I didn't buy anything over the weekend! I'm not sure if I'll go with the percale or the linen. I did watch the video Roc. I agree, the coverlet does look amazing. I wouldn't throw it back if someone gave me one :)

The cover does look snuggly. I'm wondering though it says fully machine washable .do you think that would be true if you chose wool filling.

I would prefer wool to cotton batting, actually. The cotton can get matted down in quilts while wool keeps its loft, particularly after washing. You agree pinky?

Interesting, I would refuse to buy the product "red land" cotton on principle. They may mean the soil, but I read it as support for a destructive political party.

I think it said that these blankets can be made using a combination of cotton and wool. Not all wool. Which I can understand as wool is pricey. Wonder what the wool to cotton % is. IMO wool would definitly be the better as long as it was prewashed preshrunk. So yes Roc I do agree. Think I've said before that I put my wool blanket in a cotton duvet cover, its the most wonderful. Warm without being sweating hot because its breathable. I would though ask the percentage of wool to cotton filling as it could be 90% Cotton 10% wool..hopefully not but ya never know.

My impression is that the quilt is semi custom. You can have what you want. They know what they are doing. If I were serious about one of these I would call and ask them what they recommend. They wash everything before they send it out. They know exactly what will work.

Ok, just looked and the prices are higher on Amazon. King duvet in white is $330 on Linoto site and $350 on Amazon site. Both offer free shipping. Buying through Amazon will give $17.50 (from Amazon, not from Linoto) to the charity. Buying through Linoto will save me $20, which I could just donate to my charity myself. Then no rush today. Hmm.

I would wait for a holiday where there is a good discount at Linoto since it will be over their minimum.

I am always game for a Sferra warehouse sale if you dare to try a badass wholesale experience that starts at 7 am in a line behind a warehouse.

Still think the old duvet with the holes will be handy for the pup when the new one goes on the bed. Then just wash the old one.

Deep Mattresses: Thanks for the feedback and letting us know that you'd like deeper fitted sheets. I'll re-touch base with our manufacturers about this and see what our options are. My guess, unfortunately, is that it will be easier said than done. We are reaching the outer limits of our looms and for Kings/CalKings we'd probably have to add extra fabric to get the depth people are looking for. Interestingly the trend is towards 10-12" mattresses nowadays and we're getting more requests for shallower fitted sheets than deeper. But I'll look into it. :)

Colors:

Short answer - our first color is coming this summer. So please follow us on social or via our email list as that is where we let people know about all things new and cool at A50. :)

Long answer - We're the only company doing what we are doing, making bedding 100% in the USA. We visit our manufacturers regularly and know them personally - they're awesome, family-run businesses that have survived despite hard times. They're literally the best in the business and we all like to say "nothing was ever off-shored for higher quality." :)

This comes with limitations and one of them is that in order to do a color run we need a minimum volume. This minimum is NOT small so we have to be thoughtful, and careful about introducing colors. We won't introduce every color under the rainbow, at least not until we've grown massively and can stomach the minimums. Please let me know what colors you all would like! This feedback really helps us.

The only color I would want or need at this point is a nice burnt orange. For some reason that color is hard to find in cotton sheets but there are multiple microfiber sheets in that color. If only I could stomach microfiber.

I live burnt orange sheets. I have a couple of flat sheets from Yves Delorme. Not American but great quality Italian sheets.

My only request is to sell individual sheets. I hate fitted sheets and prefer flats only.

Homepro, I haven't used flat sheets since my early years as a nurse, and at camp. I know how to make a bed with them, but how have you found them to stay put? In the hospital when flat sheets were the only game in town, we had the bottom sheet layed even with the mattress foot, then the excess was tucked under the mattress at the head of the bed. The top sheet was even with the head of the bed, with a bit of a turn down, and the excess was tucked under the mattress at the foot of the bed. That seemed to keep everything in place for the day. But the bed would be totally pulled out by the next day. And in addition, with my home bed, I do not like my top sheet tucked in under that mattress at the foot of the bed.

Any thoughts about the use of only flat sheets with my info?

I have no issues with my flat sheets coming loose and according to people who have observed me sleep, I am fighting demons and my sleeping partners in my sleep:-)

I use extra large sheets. Rough Linen has the perfect size for the flat sheets (127"x127"). Yves Delorme makes one of their sheets in a super large size and that works perfectly (118"x122"). Once tucked in, the sheets don't move. I look for king flat sheets with these types of measurements. My Matteo linen sheets are also close in size.

With these sizes, I have about 10-12" of overhang at the top, bottom and sides of the bed. The sheet is tucked in all around the bed evenly. You can leave your top sheet untucked and just use it as a cover that is easy to roll around under. With the excess overhang of the flat sheets, even when you have it tucked in, the sheets loosen without coming undone.

The other advantage is that I have one King bed and two Queen sized beds in the house and one sheet can be used on all of them. I buy a sheet at a time and pillow cases as I choose.

Thanks Homepro. I would not like making up a bed like I did years ago in the hospital. The sheets were different then for making beds. I like that you can get sheets that are long enough to tuck in at the top and the bottom.

Flat bottom sheets are a non-starter for me. I was taught to make beds with hospital corners and I always do. Even with hospital corners, flat sheets become loose. And correcting them requires stripping the entire bed because the top sheet can pull the bottom one loose.

If someone uses a duvet without a top sheet then it might be possible. But I cannot stand the wrinkling, not even in hotels.

Yes, I agree that the top sheet is one of the culprits at pulling the bottom sheet out. If I could tuck the entire sheet into place, it would be something I'd like to try. I don't like my top sheet tucked in, so that will help in keeping the bottom one set. In the recent years (sateen seems to be the problem) my bottom sheets rip, and I end up with a top sheet that's no longer a set. I don't buy sateen sheets any more.

I believe I will try getting some large flat sheets and give it a try, for my queen sized bed.

You will have to try it with the Rough Linen sheets as the bottom sheets. It really does not come loose. I use both a top sheet and a duvet cover:-)

Enduring, apart from never being able to fold a fitted sheet to my satisfaction even when I was watching the Martha Stewart video, the elastic always broke and I would end up with a short flat sheet anyway. Give it a try and see what you think. Not tucking in the top sheet should make is pretty easy!

While there were many enjoyable tangents on this thread, I'm back to report on the A50 sheet set I purchased. They were out of other sizes than full at the time, but I needed a full set. Quick shipping, minimal eco-friendly packaging, and well-made products are what I received. The sheets are visibly high quality, softer than I expected at first, and just what I hoped for. We are happy to support businesses with foresight, as well. I'll most likely order from them again.
