I've never made a rag quilt, but do recall using whatever scissors I had with with me at the retreat one year to help Beverly rag a quilt. I remember my hands tiring, so good scissors are essential.

The spring-loaded Fiskars are wonderful for making rag quilts! I use the small or medium-sized ones to keep my hands from getting tired.

Mine look like the larger pair. They are Fiskars.

I have the spring loaded rag scissors and the Fons and Porter ones. I much prefer the Fons and Porter's. rag scissors I got mine at Joann's on sale, but that was years ago.
