Kitchen Island with Sink

If you have a kitchen island with a sink in it, is the sink in the middle or off to the side? I'm looking to maximize counter space and wondered what others experiences have been. Do you like having the sink on the middle or do you feel it chops up your counter space? If sink is on the side is it harder to do dishes? Thanks!

I would go to the side for the sink, this type of sink is designed for prep work not really dishwashing.

If space is your main concern, then put it on the side of the island. However, aesthetically speaking I like the sink in the middle for a little symmetry.
