Thank you for your reply, my concern is more about up keep.

Dirt is dirt. Water is water. Wood doesn't really care about dirt. A snick of water isn't much to wood. It will require wiping up inside of 10-15 minutes. Nothing out of the ordinary.

If you normally wipe up spills inside of 10 minutes or are conscientious about keeping your kitchen flooring clean, then wood shouldn't create too much of a concern for you. It will be business as usual. The only thing that you will change will be the type of cleaners used and the types of mops/technique. The actual "cleaning" will continue as usual for you.

If "up keep" makes you nervous, then maybe wood isn't a good idea for you. The human living with the floor is just as important as the floor itself. Personality quirks dictate the flooring we choose.
