Cabinet too wide for wall- sticks 2" past corner: Can it work?

We want to buy a really unique piece that we'd use as a bar cabinet. However, the piece is 2.25" wider than the ideal wall for it in the new house, so it would extend past the corner. We would like to put it against the short wall right behind the chair in the photo below. Around that corner is the doorway leading into the kitchen. I love the piece we want to buy, but does anyone have tips for making a piece that is too large look ok in a spot like that? Thanks!

Extending 2+ inches past the wall will not look good imo.......no hiding it, either. Can you find another spot for it?

It sounds like a great piece -- I'd angle it. It will add architectural and visual interest. (plus, I love to angle things. :)

There is potential to put it in a different spot, but it would take up space that we were hoping to use differently. Just around the corner is a small wall, then the kitchen door, but the small wall also has a big floor vent, so not much can go there. Otherwise I'd find a large plant/decor item to put there to slightly camouflage the extra inches, but... won't work here.

I could try angling it, but the piece might take up too much visual room then. Hrm.
