I can not see that u have any option other than a bench on sides and 1 chair on either end if u want them to look like they fit correctly

IMO benches do not work with this table unless they are very modern I am not sure why your chairs do no fit at the table when you are sitting if a bench works chairs will work . I hate benches at a table you have to climb over to sit down and get out , everyone has to sit exactly the same distance from the table , IMO they barely work at a picnic table .

The legs of chairs hit the X when pushed in. I have small kids so the chair really does need to fit in snugly, more so than with adults. Thanks!
