Three main methods. 1. Get a matching "pencil" edge to finish edges; 2. Use a Schluter system. This leaves a metal edge. The final edge of tile sets unto this "L" shaped edging 3. Run an angled off bead of grout from top edge of tile to wall. There are some "chair rail" type strip tiles that can work in some situations.

I use schluter I find it a nice clean finish for glass tile.
