furniture layout is stressing me out!!! Please help me!

I have an open floor plan for living room and dining area. I have no idea how to arrange furniture in this space! I just painted the walls and I am ready for a complete makeover but I can't seem to understand a good layout for the room mostly because of the open kitchen concept. And so my place has looked like we just moved in for months now (even though we have lived here for 6 years :/) it's time I give my home more TLC, but I am struggling! I am showing you two different setups that we tried. I am open to any ideas and am in desperate need of some help! Here are some priorities:

- tv is a big part of our life and we both like to be able to comfortably sit or stretch out on seating and watch. We used to have it in the middle of the big space to watch it from both dining and living room but I am thinking we should center it in the living room space.... still can't figure out a layout even with that in mind.

- it's just the two of us, but we do have family over often and would like to have spaces that feel conversational and enough seating.

- I am not attached to any of the furniture pieces. Although if I can make any piece work, it would help with budget. But, a good layout is priority over keeping any furniture.

      I tried that but it feels too cluttered as you walk into the door

      I think it looks best with the sofa and love seat in the corner closest to the door, and the table near the windows, assuming the TV fits on the wall with the kitchen opening. You could mount the TV to give you more floor space. Can you build a closet or put a storage system behind the front door? That may help you unclutter the space.

      Yea I think I could put storage behind the door. That's a good idea. The tv can be mounted but will cover some of the kitchen opening and be off part of the wall. It doesn't fit on that wall exactly. is it terrible if it is off of the wall a bit?

      I think the the layout you had with the sofas at the window was the best choice. The coffee table should be turned the other way and carpet as well with tv centered on the wall. What is the size of your rug

      You wouldn't want the TV sticking out further than the wall, or covering part of the kitchen opening, so your only option is to put it on the long wall, with the table near the front door. Remove the overhang from the kitchen ledge opening. Put the longest sofa on the wall under the kitchen opening, with the coffee table in front of it. Then put the love seat under the windows, and move the TV closer so it is part of the seating group.

      I never thought of moving the tv closer while on that wall... that makes it of sense for the grouping. I think I can shorten the ledge , not sure if I should remove it because it helps when in the kitchen. I wanted to push it in, but it would interfere with refrigerator opening. That ledge takes about 8 inches which is a lot when you have a small space! It's definitely annoying for the living room. Uh helpful for the kitchen. I was thinking of possibly trading out the big sofa for a chair and ottoman... thoughts?

      You can keep the ledge the way it is in the kitchen, but just make the outer edge basically flush with the living room wall (an inch or so overhang), like this photo:

      I would get rid of the love seat instead of the sofa. You can fit the sofa facing the TV with a chair and ottoman under the window, and another chair floating in the room on the other side of the sofa. If you use an ottoman, you may need a smaller, round coffee table, or just use the ottoman as a coffee table.
