can we get more pictures of the rest of the room?

Need photos from every direction, please. I suspect there's a better furniture arrangement that doesn't have everything crammed into corners in this room.

I am completely open to moving furniture around. The sofas are 2 different sizes, a 3 and a 2. I would struggle with where to put them, as they are fairly big. I will be replacing them this year though, for grey, but smaller

I would do something like this if the seating stays where it is. The TV can go on a swivel base or be mounted on an articulating arm. Your rug and little table are both too small. Use a coffee table instead if you don't have room for a side table on the end of the sofa.

How much space do you have to the right of the front door? Can you give us a shot of that wall straight on from the door to the corner where the TV is?

I like that photo. How did you manage to do that? I can't seem to envisage what my living room should look like. Is that an app that you used?
The rug is too small and the side table also, but they are only there until I can figure something else out. I don't have any vision with my living room, I feel it's a man awkward space because I have to have my dining table in the room too.

Thanks for the shot of the door. I was hoping that was a window where a sofa might sit. The logical place for the TV is in the alcove. Putting the sofa in there isolates those sitting on it.

I would try placing the sofa and loveseat facing each other with the TV in the nook. If that would work for you, then when you replace them, get a sofa and two chairs instead of a loveseat, The sofa would go on the wallpapered wall with the chairs facing it. Even better if they were swivel chairs for watching TV.

Also, your chandelier seems to be in a weird place, like in the center of the whole space so it's not in either room.

...is the only photo in your ideabook. Do you like the whole room or just the gray wall? I would suggest you save more photos of your favorite rooms and we can help you from there. Note: this bulky furniture shown in the photo above is probably not going to work for you. We'll need to find smaller versions if this is the look you like.

I haven't really added anything to any ideas boards. Maybe I will take a look. I love everything grey and white with maybe an accent colour. The red sofas I hate!

you really need to look through Houzz photos and start an idea book for this room and others. I save ideas to mine to just find answers for these posts. it helps seeing the furniture placement in pictures and you find you gravitate towards certain colors and design.

groveraxle does it again! always has great solutions

just one other comment. pull the dining table and chairs away from the wall so that you can comfortably walk all the way around them and are able to pull all the chairs out to sit down. can't see if you have one but a rug there with the table centered on it so that when you pull the chairs out they are still on the rug. it would help define that space also. there should be at least a foot of flooring showing around a rug.

thank you to everyone that commented, you have given me some great ideas. I do feel now like I need to get all the furniture right before I sort out what can go on the walls. I really struggle with this space. As it's dining area too it quite small and narrow and trying to have 2 functioning areas is a real pain especially with 4 of us in the house!!
