Yes, at the current height it looks like it's just floating in space and not anchored by the sofa. I would try lowering it 3-5 inches and seeing how you like it. That said, if you hadn't brought it up, I would never have thought to myself "That picture is hanging too high up from the sofa, what were they thinking." (i.e,, it looks fine, unless it's really bothering you.)
