I think it is too small. The space needs something big and bold. That is just not doing it but hubby looks comfortable :)

I think the length of your artwork is fine. I agree it should probably be lowered a bit and centered with the sofa. However, if you would like to make the artwork more substantial, try painting a rectangle on the wall that is maybe 4 to 6 inches larger than your frame. Hang the artwork within this rectangle and it will have more of an impact. Choose a neutral color from your artwork. You could then pick up the color of this painted rectangle with throw pillows on your sofa.

They always say eye level but at whose eye? I myself think it needs to be lower your husband looks tall so def. not his eye level:) bring it down maybe 3 to 4"

It is not the right size for over the sofa. Too small and horizontal. Go modern and graphic.

Yes it is a bit high. I would bring it down halfway between the back of the sofa and where it is now or about 6 inches from the top of the sofa and center the sofa underneath. If the painting seems to small for the wall you could place 3 smaller similar pictures above it to fill up the wall space.

the scale is wrong. find another place for it, and buy a bigger piece for over the sofa.

I think it looks ok. If you look at the center square of the art, it is to the left of the center cushion in the sofa. It looks like perhaps the room could use a little "punch". What about painting that wall
another color?

It's too small and too high. I would suggest that you keep looking for something that would be more to scale and have more impact but if you want to keep it possibly paint that wall an accent color and then hang your artwork lower.

I love the carpet I would add some color maybe drapes I think I'm seeing light blue pillows and beige love your table I'm not sure what your art is but could you put it vertical and add 3 more on each side somewhat like it even mirrors would work as long as they were same hight and a bit apart to even the wall and to not let the couch over power your art but work with it

You know a bright throw would also go well
