Hi Evaldas! I grafted my own citrus trees for the last year on sweet orange seedlings (from store bought fruit) and currently I am growing pomelo seedlings (pomelo from the store) for future grafts. My trees are all in containers and will never be planted outdoors (my climate is too cold for citrus). I also have a clementine seedling, hoping to graft clementine on it this year, just waiting for it to grow little stronger. Hopefully someone else will chime in with their experiences and knowledge.

While we're at it, I was going to use the cleft grafting technique, however can the method shown in the illustration attached work on citrus? I think it's called a splice graft?

It will be hard to align the two cambium layers...

It is much easier to peel a little of the bark from the rootstock and to insert the scion between wood and peeled bark.

I would say to you that try all the methods of grafting, you practice and gain experience and knowledge, sometimes you might fail and that's ok too. That's what I do and it is fun :) If you have a scion and you really don't want to lose it, do the grafting by the method that you are really good at.

This is the only citrus grafting that took out near 100 attempts.
