Apparently some people are putting these in home kitchens, although they're intended for commercial use. I think it's absurd. Why would you even want something so aesthetically obtrusive?

Is that the only sink??? Looks like a prep sink with a fire hose. It does have a spout below. Perhaps it is in lieu of a pot filler at the range. Or to shoo off kids wen it's almost dinner time and they tend to get under foot (any floor drains?). It does make you wonder why, but it looks silly. I'd prefer a giraffe -- the four legged kind. ;)

I also thought firehouse when I saw it- thinking the owners may not be careful in the kitchen and want to be able to put out any fires. Holy mackerel!

I don't care for the look of the kitchen's overall style, but I am impressed it's 10-yrs old.

How funny to see this in a kitchen at the price range of the stuff Jim posts.

It's terribly common here in one phase of our townhouse development with teeeeennnny kitchens--a miniature bar sink with the fire hose faucet whenever they renovate. I think that here, anyway, the thinking is, "You've got a dishwasher, so you don't really need a sink, but since you have to have one, let's have a ginormous faucet to show we're in style and professional and all."

That's a pretty wild faucet. Where would that look good? I'm being serious.

Those sprayers are a royal pain to use. I recently volunteered working in a commercial kitchen, and I managed to soak myself and every single surface in a 10 foot radius with that sprayer. Ugh.

That is ridiculously large. I have one with the sprayer and pot filler in one faucet but it's a reasonable size for the sink and kitchen. I absolutely love mine and would not want to go back to a regular faucet now. I have never seen one as tall and strangely shaped as that one.
