Liking it so far. I like the picket fence idea... might add some character! What you are missing is landscaping. You need some new plantings to revive the facade. Also, edge the landscaping with the same stone as the post on the front porch.

What a cute house! I love that the columns are still authentic, with the dual materials of stone and white.

It's probably not worth the money to you, but I'd want to change that one large window to two smaller windows (really a double window in the same space). Craftsman windows typically have divided lights (panes) on the upper sash and one single on the lower. But they don't really ever feature picture windows. Even if there was a way to work in a vertical casing to split that window...

Love the house! I agree that the porch railing isn't necessary. I would add a window box with plantings on the small window to the left along with shutters. A colorful paint in the front door and shutters, if you do them, would brighten it up.

I would put white shutters around the single window to the left. Maybe paint the brick white. You could add a great pop of color in the door. I'd also either add a white railing or maybe consider a treatment to the cement porch to warm the color up a bit.

What a sweet house! I agree that unless you are required to install a railing by code, you should skip it. There probably wasn't one there originally and Craftsman houses typically had stone or shingled knee walls instead of open railings.

And I would offer another perspective on the windows. Some homes built in the 10's-20's did indeed have larger plate glass windows. I wouldn't spend the money to change it, and I wouldn't bother with shutters either. :-) Also, avoid white white trim - creams or tans would be better on a home of this era.

Agree 100% on landscaping and window boxes. Will make a big difference!

Strictly speaking, shutters and window boxes might not be true to the craftsman vibe but more like a cottage. Also, I would put more of a craftsman style fence rather than a picket. But I agree landscaping would be a big help. I'll see if I can find some pics.

We just moved from a craftsman I think a fun color would go far

Note the colors, angles of the fence, straight simple lines. Also some new craftsman lighting and house numbers would be nice.
