Love the cabinet and all your other furnishings but the cabinet doesn't seem to fit that space very well. Is there another spot for it? What is on the other side of the room?

It shouldn't be taller than the back of the sofa. Maybe get another table for that side of the sofa--one that's the same height as the sofa arm. It doesn't have to match the other end table.

End table suggestions.

If you keep it in that spot try adding a very short but chubby lamp to balance with the other lamp. The cabinet is already so much higher that the lamp should be short.

Possibly try it on the other end of the sofa? Swap places with the end table? That might mean the picture would need to be re-centered. Maybe worth a look.

Would that make everything off center with the fireplace? Not good then.

What you can add on top of your cabinet are cream colored vases with beautiful roses to touch up the place. Also, I would change the painting to a more contemporary style.

Didn't read all the posts, but my feeling is to move it to behind one of the chairs (on the fireplace wall). You are trying to fix something that doesn't belong there. Another end table may be the answer.

Your fireplace wall is not composed correctly. Move the two chairs further away from the wall. Perhaps angle the chairs so they can more easily share the ottoman

Place your cabinet/s on either side of the FP

That end table doesn't fit there, find another place for it. You need two larger end tables to flank that couch.
