I will be making the biggest purchase of my life by buying my first house. The hard part of the kitchen will be the appliances as I have to purchase them prior to the kitchen installation. I have no idea what make and as I watch TV, I see alot of advertisements towards the GE Profile. I wanted to do an LG kitchen. What would the people out there recommend and why? What do you have in your kitchen?

Personally, I would start by buying a subscription to Consumer Reports...they have great info and feedback on almost all appliances which will help you make an informed decision...they also have info on all the other "stuff" that a new homeowner will probably purchase eventually...tools, furniture, etc!

Dear Vera,

If your budget permits go with Miele. They are superb products and the quality is amazing. Mine also came with 10 year warantee. My brother has LG products and he is very happy as well. GE makes very good refrigerators, but everything else they make are not as good of quality as their refrigerators.

We bought a Samsung french door refrigerator in counter depth and we couldn't be happier! The counter depth fits perfectly with our cabinets and doesn't stick out in the room a bunch (which I hate), even in the counter depth style we can still fit in a pizza box. The Samsung has the largest capacity counter depth fridge on the market.
