Ugh... waiting for someone to answer you. I have the same question, except with a Desert Rose

compost can contribute to a perched water table in 5-1-1. Desert rose would work with gritty mix, and fertigating at half strength. For my DR, i just use chix grit and floor dry. either mix works well in those felt pots. i use 5-1-1 with amaryllis, and the gritty with my DR.

That works for me!!! Especially since the PBF has been a challenge. Do you use a fertilizer that has a higher middle number, higher in phosphorus?

i just fertigate with the blue stuff, half strength every watering, and add a small amount of ozmocote to each pot/container. i am always checking the caudex on the DR, and the amaryllis come out every fall …

Thank you, Bragu. I really need to start fertilizing. Gonna google fertigating right now ;-)

Got it :-)
