My husband and I are about to close on a COOP apartment. We will be opening and updating the kitchen. Attached is a picture from an older listing of a similar layout to what we will eventually have, but we will be extending the island by 48 inches for a dining area. Due to COOP guidelines, we can not move the stove, so it needs to remain in the center of the island. I have 2 issues... I have been searching for an island hood cover. If I cant find an affordable cover for the hood, I am struggling with the type of lighting. I would love to have a little chandelier hanging over the dining area of the island. Something like this......

However, I am unsure if doing pendents would be too much with the hood, do I just do lights in the ceiling?
