Bought Foreclosure- Needs flooring

What would go with this house? We were thinking of possible some dark wood tile? Or do you think something else would go better? It's our first house and needs lots of work. We plan to paint inside based on what flooring we end up with. We're open to any type of flooring and have the budget to do so. We're completely lost on what to do. lol

If you have the budget to go to any type of flooring, but are "completely lost on what to do," I would suggest investing a bit of time with a good interior designer or decorator.

When I spec built homes, it was easy--builder beige, grey or white. When it came to our own home, I was lost on paint colours; two hours with a colour coordinator and voila!

For hardwood you can investigate this Italian manufacturer. With retail in major cities.Here Chevron reminds me of Paris properties.

Wow beautiful home. Just remember that dark floors SHOW EVERYTHING. They are beautiful and rich looking but dust/debris, you name it, you'll likely see it.

Lots of people love wood, but I would think about your lifestyle and your future lifestyle if you decide to go that route. Our main floor has engineered wood (except for the kitchen/family room where we have limestone). The floors are only 8 years old, but they look terrible. Like unbelievably terrible. All was good when we had one dog. Now we have two and they love to play. And run to the door when the bell rings. And it is like their nails slice through the floor like it is butter.

dmunspark - we had some flooring like that from HD. HD had so many complaints that they didn't use that supplier anymore, but that didn't really help us. We eventually replaced everything with bamboo, which has been excellent, dogs and all.

anewhome98 - I agree that it might be helpful to consult a local designer or decorator. Where are you? I've noticed that many places in FL (I'm looking at all those palm trees) go for all tile floors, so that might be a way to go. In CA, hardwoods are probably a better choice. Love that front door! Hate that "it's already moldy" yellow wall
