I would contact them right away about this damaged bareroot. I personally would not plant that. Even from reputable companies such as Reagan stuff like this seems happens from time to time. I received a similar bareroot from DA last year (normally receive wonderful bareroots from them) and they replaced it right away. I don't sweat minor damage but this is more than that.

Plant it anyway, too, besides asking for a replacement.

I'm with Rebecca. Call but plant that one anyway. You have nothing to lose by doing so. They should send you a replacement but if this one lives anyway you've got a bonus. Roses are amazingly resilient and that one looks pretty strong so I'm betting it will grow just fine.

Found a way to send the photo. I will do as advised here. It's soaking now. I'll plant it later today. Normally I'd just prune that part off and seal it but it's such a big portion I think I'll just leave it alone and see how it does. Thanks again everyone, I appreciate all of you!
