If you don't need the privacy, I'd leave the windows alone. The windows in the loft area would look better with roman shades to add some color and interest to the space rather than the shades that are currently there. Definitely replace the ceiling fans with updated, sleeker, cordless fans. The one in the family room can be larger with a longer down-rod than what is pictured. Without seeing the whole space, I can't make any suggestions for furniture and TV layouts. Good luck!

I like the views from the windows, but light control could be an issue. I would check on installing solar shades. The come in all colors and some patterns and textures. Personally, I dislike ceiling fans. First, they don't make spaces cooler they just move hot air from high to lower. So I would replace them with lovely chandeliers and ceiling mount fixture in the loft area. If you need true air movement check into floor fans. Agree with Suzie Smith, can't comment on furniture and TV without more photos taken from a distance all around to see what your options might be. That might not be possible until you move in, but we can wait. :)
