Working on a patriotic quilt for a special friend that served in the Air Force during Vietnam and then finished a full career as a Harris County Police Detective. I completed the top today and still have the backing, sandwiching, and then quilting to finish up by Palm Sunday. I also started and finished the April lotto blocks. Baby things will need to be done later this month for a new great nephew so there is enough to stay occupied. In between - maybe a couple of other projects I've been thinking about trying.

Ibquiltin, you will be busy this week! I hope you have time to post pictures before you give the quilt away.

I haven't tried sewing at the machine yet, but I think my shoulder is recovered enough that I could. But I've been working on hand piecing a runner from tumbling blocks that my mom started so I think I'll keep going and finish it.

My only goal is to do SOMETHING! It's already getting hot, it's 88 degrees on my front porch in the shade, so maybe that'll get me back inside. That's funny about the biscuits, that's the only thing at that restaurant that's worth eating IMO. They have similar ones at Ruby Tuesdays so since we like their salad bar we can get them there. Donna, glad you're healing, just don't overdo. I do have some strips and scraps looking at me after I went through and sorted them all into color families - (probably 6 huge bags worth). I had asked my Grandson, aged 14 if he would do me a huge favor one day when I had to pick him up due to an early release day, just for laughs. When I explained what I needed done and showed him the bags you should have seen the look I got! LOL! So I told him I would pay him $10 to do it. Well you know the rest of THAT story. So I said "how much money would it take?". He couldn't come up with an answer. The only thing he could think to say besides "no" was "why?"

Hi Sharon. I haven't been around here much. I am having family woes and the winter is making things worse. I can't say it is spring. DH has had to shovel snow from the driveway three times within the past week. The second round he had to use the snowblower!

This month, I plan to quilt 2 large quilts. Hopefully it will get done.

Plan on finishing DD's quilt. I have 20 of the 30 blocks needed done, but I still have to buy more black, border and backing fabric. She then wants me to paint her bedroom furniture and walls. I would love to have this all done by summer.

I just hope to finish this quartered squares quilt top. With the white sashing, I don't dislike it so much. But, with adding the sashing, it's taking forever. Or, so it seems. It seems like I'm spending all my time squaring up each step.

Well, I've been counting up my works in progress. I refuse to call them UFOs because I really haven't neglected them; they have just piled up due to my being away from my Tiara for three months. I have two quilts sandwiched and ready to quilt and bind. (Okay, one of them really is a UFO.) I just recently found the perfect quilting pattern to use on one of them. On the second, I may try out the Westalee ruler that I just got for the baptist fan pattern. I have two tops that need sandwiching, quilting and binding. Then I have three scrap quilts that need borders, sandwiching, quilting and binding. I have 27 string blocks that are the start of another quilt. I have about 3/4s of my One Block Wonder hexagons completed and another little kimono wall hanging all kitted up. Let's see - that's ten quilts in various stages of completion. I'd better get going!! This sounds like more than just April.

Wow, it sounds like plans have been made and we're all marching forward. Reading your post, Lois, I thought I probably should go through all the bins I have and make sure all of the UFOs/WIPs are accounted for as it's been quite a few years since I've done that.

WoooooHooooo, I got one quilt top together today. It's waiting to be pressed and then I'll take a picture. Of course it's a scrappy...... :-)
