Recently I converted my front door into a Dutch door and painted it, the frame and sidelight in glossy black.
It looks good against the red ochre of the walls, which are rammed earth, but I have decided to lighten the scheme with a glossy light blue and trim in a dark almost black slate charcoal- to tie in with the posts on the wrap around verandah.
The blue is Dulux Placid Blue and dark charcoal Wattyl Gray Ember.
Should I paint both the sidelight and door in the light blue, or just the door? As it is a single side light I can't decide what would look best.
Photos show the door before I converted it to Dutch Door (sorry, haven't any recent ones) and the next an example of the Gray Ember (painted chair). The third photo is a close match to the light blue I've chosen.
