You are 100% right that the red is taking away from that gorgeous brick. Your space has huge potential, but I think you have an additional challenge in that the brick, the cabinets, and the floors, are not quite working together due to undertones. The brick is red/brown, the cabinets have range undertones, and the floors have yellow undertones. Would you be open to painting the cabinets as well as walls and doing a backsplash, or no?

Great potential. I would go light on the walls to pick up the light tone in the grout. It will contrast nicely with the beautiful cabinetry and brick on the walls. It will keep the back drop soft while allowing the brick and beautiful cabinets to take center stage. Then for backsplash I would not add any more. You already have the small black one and you don't want to get it looking busy with more materials. Best wishes!
