Farmer job: You could use a zip tie (aka zap strap) to attach your cord to one end of the hook on the back, then zip tie the other end to an eye hook in your wall. It looks like you could attach two cables to that loop in the way I described and place two eye hooks in the wall in adjacent studs. Leave the zip ties loose at the wall side and tighten them evenly as much as possible as you slide the cabinet in. At 7" length of cord and 16" between studs the zip ties should give you the extra length you need to bridge the difference.

The hook on the back looks more like a decorative drawer pull. I personally wouldn't depend on that one attachment point to secure this piece to the wall, especially if it's for child-safety reasons. Can't you just use one of the anti-tip kits you bought following the installation instructions?

Me too here as you want to secure that very nice looking cabinetry? Why? do you have kids that would play or hang on it? Once you fill it won't move. Why anchor to the wall?

Thanks for all the comments. To clear up a few things:

- my house is old. The floors aren't all even.

- this piece is HEAVY & TALL. I have a degree in physics so I am quite knowledgeable in center of gravity & toppling concepts. With that being said, I will be having a kid soon, and don't want to risk this piece falling. I know filling it will help to lower its center of gravity and make it more stable, but with the older floors and the weight distribution of this piece, I do not want to take any chances with it killing my child.

- don't want to use plastic zip-ties as the plastic does degrade over time

- the kits I bought do not fit. The only wire-cable kits I could find were designed to drill in plates to wooden furniture. This is metal. I was hoping to rig something with the wire through furniture hook and then use the metal plates provided in the kit to drill into the walls studs (would feel more comfortable using stud as opposed to drywall anchor screws), but as I mentioned earlier, the cables I have will not fit through the hook in the furniture, so that plan was foiled.

- my last resort would be a strap, something like:

We anchored our China cabinet with L brackets....screwed one side to the top of the tall china cabinet and the other part to the wall.....used two....one for each side of the top. They are high enough that they don't show. Otherwise our cabinet would be very tippy.
