We live in Northern Virginia and have noticed holes in our lawn around the foundation of our home. The holes are not near any plants or trees and there are no mounds of dirt near them, nor do we have brown spots of dead grass. The holes are about 1-1.5 inches in diameter, are dug at a shallow angle, and only 1-3 inches in from the opening with short trough like depressions at the opening. There are several holes all along the house foundation. The individual holes are for the most part not connected, but the holes are less than a foot apart. Please help.
