Looking for help designing a master bath 13'x10'-7"

I am looking for ideas for a master bathroom. Originally my wife and I planned on just a shower but she has started to lean towards a tub as well. It could be a separate tub and shower or they could be combined. If combined a nice big tub with a rain and regular shower head would be nice. We don't care about having the toilet in a room that can be closed off and do what 2 sinks. Past that we want make as much use of the natural light from the windows as possible. Looking for general layout not necessarily style.

Here is the space we have to work with. Any ideas are welcome, the more options the better. Thanks.

thanks for that idea, I'll try playing around with everything basically in those spots. May like the tube rotated 90 and under the windows then a bigger shower. Might have trouble with the toilet the n

I was gonna say what Lydia provided. The only difference would be to turn the tub along side the wall with the windows and extend the shower from the wall on the right to the edge of the wall where the bathroom entrance is located. Also if it's in the budget I'd suggest enlarging the window. A single picture window over the tub would keep everything you're saying you want the space and flow. That way you have a shower and a tub for which ever mood or. Red suits you guys best. Have fun and good luck.

Do you feel you need a linen closet? More homes are now going towards larger showers with bells & whistles over tubs in the master. If you go with a tub, more than likely you will need a larger water tank or an extra one for it.

I would rather not have a tub but the wife has decided she would like one. Nothing is set in stone we are just exploring all of our options. I'm guessing we land on either on bigger shower or some kind of shower tub combo. We do plan on a tankless water heater.

this was like the exact lay out we had. we did a beautiful americh madison II tub that was extra wide and rain shower and found a three sided shower curtain rod for it. came out beautifully. look up 11181 aqua vista st in studio city for how it came out. pics on zillow! https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/11181-Aqua-Vista-St-North-Hollywood-CA-91602/20025630_zpid/

and remember, happy wife happy life. i can not live without my tub. its therapeutic. women are emotional creatures. we need to sit in water ;)

also i did more natural light by installing a solatube directly above the shower. brightened the whole place up. loved it.

I'm feeling the happy wife happy life comment haha. She had mentioned a solatube for the shower and we are looking at that option. The other idea was a glass wall on the side that faces the window to let light into the shower.

solatube all the way. it lets a ton of light in. and its easier to shave your legs when the lights coming right down on you. just lookin out for her ;P also its like a diffused light so your bod still looks nice in it. usually i stay away from that 12 oclock light as much as possible bc it casts horrible shadows but the solatube reflects off the silver tubing inside so its not the same.

I like that idea but am not sure it would be in the budget. guess we can try to get some pricing on the option. if it ends up being super custom I'm guessing it will push our of our budge

This bathroom is very big. There could be a lot of improvements, based on your needs. As a minimum, consider open (or shelving in a closed cabinet in the upper left hand corner, rotate the shower as shown, and you could have a little bench as well. No you can bring these to however is designing this for you.

I did not create artworks specifically for bathrooms, but you are welcome to check out my artworks at artgreeT.com

    Good luck.

I tried the tub centered under the window first and it made the layout a bit awkward. I kept running into the same problem we have with my bathrooms at home, where the placement of the shower wall is restricted by a window. There's room for a shower, but the wall would bisect one of the windows:

In our case, we're simply going to remove that window. However, you already said you wanted to make use of the windows and natural light.

If you removed those windows and centered a larger one on the wall, it would give you far more flexibility with this room. But it would also raise the price tag.

whats on the other side of the wall where the shower currently is? you could let more light through there if something isnt on other side of it with a double sided fire place. we did that and it was amazing. then you would just have to reverse the room. put the sinks on the wall across from it where the toilet is and put the stand up shower tub on other wall where sinks were.

Thanks for the ideas all, this bathroom is on the front of the house so the double windows will look better with the front elevation. The big window in the middle would be a nice option if it was not for that. Bill/Lydia if we go with a tub I like the idea of centering it there. I think we are leaning toward a tub/shower combo of some kind. Maybe something like this but deeper with a larger ledge in the back to sit on. If a rain shower head could be incorporated that would be nice. We are getting the cost to do something like this.

itsall1 there is a walk in closet on the other side of the wall
