65 inch TV's should only be in a very large room. Even a 47 inch would be plenty. You need to measure your room and measure anything that you think you might purchase.

Consider two chairs that have a small footprint. They could also be leggy with wood arms for an airier look. Angle them on each side across from the sofa. You could have a shallow depth console with storage under the TV. Try to add a floorlamp or table lamps, don't rely on overhead lighting only.

Thanks ! I guess I can't put one chair as shown in the pic on the side of window, then you can't open it :-( im looking for space for at least 6 people to sit together. Im trying to achieve the look in the pic attached. But cant imagine how would look like with the TV above..

I'd go for the chairs, but I guess if you put the TV high enough to be out of head-bumping room, it would be ok. Odd-looking but workable.

Still, a couch and three chairs would be enough! Throw in an ottoman that can serve as coffee table or extra seating...

I would suggest 3 or 4 light weight chairs facing each other and place one or two near the door accordingly so you can open the door when you have guests - just play around with locations. You could place two on either side of the tv/console. Add a rug and a coffee table to define the seating and a narrow console/tv & a collage (to take away from the large tv). Style below may be too rustic for you, but you get the idea around placement, lightweight pieces, grounding space, etc.

I tip for how you can "assess" what will fit and what won't, take some of your "moving boxes" and stack them up to represent the pieces you want to add to the space. This will give you a "visualization" of what this room can and cannot hold. I assure you from what I can see you cannot use another large piece of furniture. Only a couple very small scale chairs.

A couple chairs like this are the scale (size) you can use and they could be moved around for larger groups as well. Perhaps get a small ottoman for a coffee table that could be used as an additional seat when needed, and moved out of the way when entertaining.Of course, you have to coordinate the fabrics. These are just examples of what could work for you. This ottoman is also a "storage" bin, which is always useful in a small space.

Please don't mount the TV over a sofa. That will be just too too weird.

The chairs that Maureen and Flo show above are perfect for this room. They have small footprints, are easy to move, and are comfortable. You should be able to make it so you only use one of the terrace doors, allowing you to put a chair in front of the other one.

Get a lovely new center chandelier in a modern style for some personality in the room as well. Soften the windows up with a nice panel on either side of the window span in a pattern and color that works with the new furnishings you select such as chairs and rug.

I think something modern (sputnik) like this would work well.

The Impulse is very expensive, but I posted it for the "concept". They can be purchased in simpler look for much less money.

thank you for all those excellent tips..im almost decided to use 2 chairs instead of 1 big sofa and mount TV over that.. pls see the visualization of what size can occupy in the corner.. the other corner can have a bigger single chair/sofa as it has a large space.. how would it look like if I use 2 different sizes for both these corners...?

thank you groveraxle for that visual demonstration.. but that chair at the side of window can block the passage to the terrace and it would be too near to the current sofa( 6 feet away).. the living room is not as big as seen in the pic..what if I place a rectangle shaped ottoman under the TV instead of that TV unit..? Should it be included for an aesthetic reason? because the Tv can really go into the wall, inbuilt type..

Rasa, the chair should not go back in the corner like that. It isolates it, makes it look like a time out chair for a naughty child. Your door to the terrace slides open, is that right? Which side is the side that opens? If it's the left, then the chair can come forward and won't be blocking the entrance.

Ideally, for balance, you should have something beneath the TV--console, shelf--that is longer than the TV's width to ground it. Generally you need something anyway to hold the cable box and all the other accoutrements that come with a TV.

Maureen is suggesting you put two chairs facing the doors and two chairs flanking the TV. If they were small and light enough, you easily could move them out of the way.

I just realized the door opens inward and the right side is the one that opens. Can that one be fixed and the other side opened instead, or is there only that one door?

If that's the only door, you could flip the room. Put the TV on the wall where the sofa is now with the sofa on the opposite wall.

@groveraxle thats right. it opens to the right.. actually the door door next to it can also be openend.. one to the right and other to the left.. only the one in the extreme left cannot be opened...
that makes sense. i should consider not placing any chair behind the door.. as you said it looks isolated...but the room cannot be flipped either..TV could be viewed better from dining area if its on this side and the cable connections are also given on this side...

Excellent, Rasa. Fix the right door closed and only use the left. Many French doors operate this way; I have two French doors in my house and in both, the right door is fixed closed with a slide bar. The only time I open it is when I have to move something large through the door.

Another thought, Rasa. The TV cabinet I stuck in your room was just one I happened to have laying around. It's probably a little large for the space, but the longer your console under the TV, the better it will look. You might look for one that you could slide a bench or a couple of ottomans underneath for extra seating.
