How much extra clearance does the door need on the hinge side to open?

We have the perfect spot for this cabinet but the left side clearance is tight and we are worried that the door will not be able to open? Does the hinge swing the door out to the left at all?

Hi Cheri,

The mirror is 5/32nds of an inch wide which is pretty thin but I would try to give it at least a 1/2 inch of clearance in addition to the width of the unit. Note that the mirror is reversible, so you could also install it with the mirror opening to the right.

I have received my medicine cabinet and it appears that it will fit perfectly. The rough opening needed is actually a little less than stated which works to our benefit as our fit was going to be TIGHT!

I notice though that the product is from Jensen, not from Pillar. When I googled Jensen medicine cabinet the item was identical but the price was not. The Jensen brand sells for $104.99, while I was charged $169.97 when I ordered the Pillar.

I believe I am due a refund of $65 please.
