West elm modern expandable dining table?

We are thinking of buying this but aren't sure due to white lacquer top durability. Does anyone have experience with it or this table? We are planning to have kids in the next couple years.

We are running low on ideas for a table with a leaf that fits 6 comfortably closed and 8 open with a design we like.

I know this is an old post but if in case anyone else with kids has the same question (like we did), I would pass. We have been eyeing this for a while and have a toddler. I was happy to see it on display at our local West Elm, but I saw how easily it scratched and it is very noticeable. Loved the design, but wish it had a more durable finish.

Did you ever purchase this table? If you did how is it holding up? We are interested in it but will also have children around, only the grandbaby kind.

We didn’t get it. It scratches VERY easy and overall consensus was it’s not very durable in build. Lastly, we bought another table from west Elm and their customer service was so horrid I would never recommend them.

I thought the top was more of a bright white, but it's definitely a subtle off-white/cream

We went to our local store as well. Even the sales rep told us it scratches easily.

We bought this table recently and it was scratched within 2 weeks with just our family eating dinner on it. We called and spent 2 hours on the phone with Wast Elm and they finally agreed to take it back. I know this post is old but just wanted to let anyone know because they are still selling it and the top hasn’t changed.

I bought this table 2 years ago -- I realize post is old --- but do not buy this table -- it scratches, chips and I regret buying. We are only 2 adults living here. We have only used soap and water to clean. And newspaper leaves black on the table and not so easy to remove.
