Rescue T. duratii with mold??

Hi everyone, in a moment of weakness I decided to bring a somewhat unhealthy T. duratii home. The leaves towards the top and the outside are nice and healthy but some of the inner leaves have a light covering of dark dots which I'm worried is mold. It doesn't come off with water.

Thoughts on if this is a viable plant? If so what to do with the mold? Should I try sprinkling the lower parts with cinnamon? Or should I just bring the plant back?

I've also quarantined this guy from the rest.

No..not mold I think. It might be cold stress..or the usual stress of perfect growing conditions..to the place you bought it being less ideal.

It could also be indicative of pests like mealybugs. Duratii's cramped style of growing lends itself to infestations since air circulation is cut off deep down in the plant. Get rid of the pest and the mold goes away.

Hello, thanks for the input everyone,

I don't see any white fuzz that usually accompanies the mealy bugs. Do you think I should treat anyway?

This happened to me once. I moved the plant to a place with better conditions and black spots stopped appearing.
