Seeing the floorplan, I have to change my mind and agree with others that the crib would be nice cornered. Usually I like Baby by the door for various reasons, but I think it could get a bit loud with sudden, startling noises with the bathroom on the adjacent wall.

The rocker would be nice near the window on the top wall in your floorplan, just about where it is now but more in front of the window so you and Baby can soak up some sun while you cuddle :)

Could the tall dresser go in the closet, at least until Baby acquires some big kid sized clothes? That way the shorter dresser can function as the changing table and the window will still be unobstructed and that wall/corner will look less crowded. I would put a basket of diapers (1-2 day supply) and a tub of wipes on the higher part of the low dresser. The hamper can switch to the other side of the dresser and a diaper bin could tuck in the armoir side.

The table set can stay right where it is!

Thank you for your suggestions Lindsey! Unfortunately the tall dresser cannot go in the closet due to shelving. Given that info any thoughts for the other wall?

I would leave the crib on the wall where it is now. You are right: the bathroom adjacent could be noisy. I also like to be able to peek in to check on the baby without light from the hallway reaching the crib. The tall cabinet should be anchored to the wall so it won't tip over in case of an earthquake or climbing child.

In that case here is my suggestion:

-Crib cornered in the corner where you have it.

-Tall dresser next to the door on the wall where it is now. Low dresser right next to it to create a stairs effect. Art above low part of dresser to bring it visually to the height of the tall dresser. Basket of dipes etc. as I described above. Babies love looking at something while they are being changed.

-Rocker in the corner near the dresser and window. The dresser top will be a good landing spot for the stuff you collect while feeding baby, and you can have the little table at your other hand right next to the crib with the small lamp. That will be convenient for middle of the night changing light too.

-Hamper could probably tuck into the corner behind the rocker. If you hang a throw on the rocker back the hamper will be hidden. But realistically, baby clothes are so small and they get washed so frequently you could make do with a much smaller laundry bin for now, if you want.

-Table set under the other window. When s/he is big enough to use it, it could pull out into the room more. This assumes baby will be newborn to you and isn't "walking in with shoes on" as my beloved mil described my adopted neice and nephew :)

Swap tall dresser and rocking chair. Put the cut little white table in the middle of the room.

Not sure little table in the middle of the room + sleep deprivation + 3am + screaming baby + bare shins = happy parent!!

Thank your Jill. Do not have dimensions of furnishings, but this might work. Crib as previously stated cornered with your rocking horse to the left of crib. Play table in front of window next to closet .Door to closet could be a problem. Let me know if this would work. Largest furniture piece on wall on right when you enter nursery. Rocker cornered at right window and I would invest in a floor lamp and put the small lamp on tall piece of furniture. The smaller table is lost in this space. Can clothes hamper go in closet? Tall dresser spaced between crib and window. 2nd option with crib in middle of room. Round rug in the center of the space and place furniture according to dimensions and balance. Have you considered connecting the two pieces of furniture and putting a mirror above the smaller piece to balance the two and save space. Really need dimensions of furniture to properly position furniture but the plans of the space gave me a visual, thanks.

er612's second layout is just what I was thinking, with the tall dresser and long dresser swapped. His/her way is better! You could also rotate the chair so it is turned more toward the window; perpendicular to the wall or parallel to the side of the crib.

Thank you for all of your input! I rearranged the room tonight. I plan on putting the letters for her on the wall between the white table & crib and artwork between the rocking chair & crib as well as over the changing table. Any other suggestions? Is the corner by her crib too bare?

It's beautiful! The only thing missing is Baby! And remember she will be acquiring a lot of stuff, so empty space is not a problem :)

ETA when you hang up the letters, hang them lower than recommended for adult height. That way she will be able to see them from her crib while looking straight ahead, when she learns to sit up.

Looks good, how about small fun mirrors above hamper to balance the three pieces together. White shelves for books above hamper would work well too.Corner looks fine. The letters will fill in space and balance that wall. The only other thing if it is in your budget a floor lamp for reading for good light when reading to your little one.
