There are 5 doors (6 including the front door!) coming off the hallway so everything is currently far too dark!

- Painting all the doors (not the stairway) white will help.

- Putting a funky 'color washed' mirror across from the source of light will also help.

- Putting a narrow console on the left wall, with art, with take focus away from the darkness and give a new focal point.

Definite improvement with the white between the steps. Not sure about the colour on the walls though. There is another tiled floor going off on the left and a pink/grey/white marble skirting. The tiling continues into a downstairs WC/laundry room too. Not sure what to do about that. The right side is easier as it joins a wooden floor into the lounge and into the kitchen where we can retile to whatever colour scheme.
