We have started making changes! Basically, we decided to strip things off as the shutters were so old and cracked anyways. We painted the door a bright color. We are debating putting shutters back but in a different color, we plan to beef up the columns and maybe paint the garage door. We like brown and cream tons do considered taupe shutters with come taupe/cream accents around the garage and then a nicer softer white. What do you think? Landscaping coming! Does anyone know how much it would cost to do a gable over the front door at the roofline but pulled out from the house (we would move two of the columns out with it?

The khaki-gray windows might not have been your first choice but it is not too bad b/c I see that color repeated in some of the bricks & grout. I'd keep all trim white including the round vent, the triangle trim and the porch trim. For the front door and shutters = paint a very dark green almost black Garage doors, down spout, and triangle area & other similar front porch area; match paint as exactly as you can the khaki-gray window color. Install a large black lantern light over garage. Install a beefier post for the front entry. Finish installing the khaki-gray windows so they are all the same (at least in the front). Make photocopies of your house & use color pencils to visualize the new colors.

Hi geenance, Your beautiful front door needs a portico to match. As far as copper roof, are you thinking diy? If not, I think a roofing company that does metal roofing should be able to help you. There are new products all the time, they might have some other alternatives too.

Showing you this so you can see a garage pergola, painted garage doors, wide trim on the windows without stick-on faux shutters, and you should definitely replace the wrought iron with real posts or columns that are quite beefed up, although I don't think Craftsman is the style you need. I'd try square ones about as wide as the shutters you have on the house now.
