color for dinning room

I have a traditional cherry dinning set. I need help finding a paint color. The ones that seem ok are in the pic below, but I am open to suggestions. Thank you in advance. Curtains will be goldish like in the picture below, but are not up yet. Red roses are visible from that window. Dinning is visible from living room - which is white.

I think a sagey green would look great in the dining space. Cozy, works well with the cherry furniture and ties the green in from the living room sofas. Something like this dining room's green wall color.

    Flo?? Bump

we just helped another Houzzer on here with a very similar dining set. she had white wainscot around the room and we had her do the top part of the wall in VanDeusen Blue, BM. gold accents. chandy. it was very pretty. she had a very similar rug as yours too.

If that's black in your rug, I would do a black and buttercream combo. or maybe a swiss coffee and black.

do not match paint to your table and floor like that maroon color swatch you have. you don't want everything to disappear. contrast. light and dark that compliment the table. not the same color as table. or floor. good heavens. If I can locate the other post, I'll give you the link so you can see. Look into doing some wainscot for that room.

ok,,,here is the other dining room like yours w/the table. It's a long post, so just scroll all the way down the completed pictures.

How about taking your sofa pillow into Lowes/Home Depot and get a color match to paint the dining room walls to be sure it complements. If you don't want green, pick a color from the pillow to enhance that color in the next room.

I like Darzy's idea of a sage green in here to cool things down a bit. I don't think any of the colors you posted work apart from the creamy yellow. As Beth stated the red/ browns are really all wrong for this furniture! It's funny you mentioned yellow and black Beth; I did a dining room not so long ago with cherry furniture in just that combo! Cherry loves black! And green too! You want your lovely furniture to stand out, not fade away....

You guys are amazing. I will post some other pics from around my place because I am not sure black and cream or sage would work. I could be wrong. Please let me know your thoughts. One of my main concerns is that my entry ( which I can not paint myself) is a pretty shocking color and I need to make it work. We bought the place this way and this room and living and dinning all look in and out of each other. Help!

My problem is my foyer color. I cannot paint it myself so I just need to make it work now. All the rooms are visible from each other. Here are more pictures.

Would a purple work if red does not. I wish I had some chair molding, but I do not. Would a whole black room be too much?

Well that foyer color certainly changes things. I like though:)! Give me a bit. No black in here as you have no real mounding to play off of it.

Ok, I have found some bluer greens that play off your foyer color a bit better. They are toned down some though and you do have a bit of this color in your rug. I love how your wood plays off the wall color in your foyer! This is what you want!

One more. I have paired these with your foyer and rug to give you an idea of how they might look. Of course you need to try these in your space as lighting is so different than a monitor screen! This is just to street you in a direction!

I meant steer you in the right direction;) I hope this is helpful!

Wow, I never would have thought of that. I will pursue this further and post back once some progress is made. Much thanks

Here you go! Stingray, a very pretty gray with a green cast. Also a good idea!

An me this is inner balance that I posted earlier; similar to stingray. I guess you have some choices now to choose from! Good luck!
